Our Ovie chess team is our pride! Ovie chess offers our students the unique opportunity to participate in a sport and expand their cognitive skills.
CHESS
Chess players are divided into three age groups – U15, U17, and U18. These players participate in the D3 league, where the winners and runners-up advance to the district finals. The top two teams in each age group then progress to the Gauteng Top Schools competition.
When the opportunity arises, we gladly participate in the Arnold Challenge’s team chess competition. Our players not only learn to play as a team but also to trust their fellow players. Above all, this competition is a lot of fun!
